KAMLOOPS — Two personal watercraft users have survived a frightening crash on the South Thompson River near Valleyview this afternoon.

RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says it appears two Sea-Doo riders collided, resulting in injuries to both operators.

It was first reported that one rider had not surfaced, but Shelkie says that is thankfully not the case.

"At this time, we know that both people who were on the Sea-Doos have been located," said Shelkie. "They did sustain some minor injuries and (BC Ambulance) is responding, as well as Kamloops Fire Rescue along with RCMP."

"Both people are accounted for and EHS is there to take them to Royal Inland Hospital. They're not life-threatening injuries," added Shelkie.
