VICTORIA — More help is on the way for those affected by this spring’s catastropic flooding in B.C.’s Interior.

Today, the province announced it will match donations to the Canadian Red Cross for flood relief for up to a total of $20 million.

Victoria says it’s chosen to work with the Red Cross because “of the agency’s experience in co-ordinating relief efforts in provincial disasters and because it is uniquely positioned to receive and distribute donations.”

The dollar-for-dollar campaign will run from May 16 to July 31 and will apply to any individual donations for B.C. residents.
