First day wrap of CCBC playoffs at Norbrock

KAMLOOPS — Game 1 #2 Okanagan College vs # 4 University of Fraser Valley

Riley Enns of  UFV turned in 7 shut out innings as the Cascades took care of the Coyotes 10-0.   UFV’s Dan Rogers was went 4-4 with 3rbi while first baseman Jepsen went 3-3 with a homerun and 2 rbi on route to the mercy rule shortened game.  

Game 2 # 3 Thompson Rivers University vs # 4 University of Fraser Valley

Dylan Emmons through a complete game scattering 13 hits giving up 5 runs, 4 walks, 9 strikeouts on route to a 12-5 Cascades win.  Dan Rogers continued to swing a hot bat going 3-6, while teammate Colin Kellington went 2-5.  TRU’s Tyler Hodder went 8 innings in the loss surrendering 11 hits 8 runs only 2 earned.  Wolfpack’s Liam Rihela went 3-4 and firstbasemen Josh Snider went 3-5 with 2rbi.

Game 3 # 5 Vancouver Island University vs # 6 University of Calgary

VIU start Austin Gurr went 4 innings before turning the ball over to the bullpen and Johan Steenkan who picked the win in two innings work.  Jordan Smith for the Dinos went 5 innings, giving up 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in the loss.  Mariners hitters Broden Bydeweg led the way going 3-5 with 4 rbi and Dylan Kirby went 3-5 with 2rbi.  Dinos hitters Matt Korman paced the offense going 2-4 with 3 rbi while Brayden Saunders went 2-4.

Game 4 # 2 Okanagan College vs # 1 Prairie Baseball Academy

Coyotes start Chris Wyslobocki turned in a complete game shutout in a 12-0 mercy shortened game.  At the plate Brandon Graham went 2-3 with 3 rbi and OC teammate Erick Junnola went 2-3 with 3 rbi.  PBA’s Liam Sabiston took the loss going 5.1 innings surrendering 9 hits, 7 runs, 7 strikeouts.  At the plate the Dawgs were led by David Leblanc went 1-3 with a double.

Game 5 # 1 Prairie Baseball Academy vs # 3 Thompson Rivers University

Tyler Moskalyk threw a complete game shutout and led the Wolfpack to their first win in the tournament winning 4-0 over the Dawgs.  TRU at the plate was led by Adam Filmon going 2-5 with 2rbi and Josh Hillis was 1-5 with a homerun.  The Dawgs hitters scattered 6 hits with David Leblanc picking up another hit.
