CHASE, B.C. — The Village of Chase is keeping a close eye on levels in Chase Creek and Little Shuswap Lake as the snow melts over the next few weeks.

Mayor Rick Berrigan says village staff have been monitoring chase creek in particular this week, but says level are below normal.

“Professional data is 70 cubic feet per second, which is below the average at peak for sure,” says Berrigan. “As long as we get the slow melt that we’ve been getting right now, we don’t get any rain, I think we’ll be okay. But there’s always that fear and we need to be mindful of it.”
