VICTORIA —   The province is spending 2.7 million dollars to help people living with dementia.

Health Minister Adrian Dix announced yesterday that the funding will go to First Link, a program that reaches out to people after they’ve been diagnosed with dementia to ensure they have the information and support they need.

Currently, more than 14-hundred people across the province are connected with First Link.

Dix says the funding will help people to learn about the disease, how to cope with changes and plan for the future.
