Record participation during first rainy Boogie the Bridge

KAMLOOPS — A little bit of rain didn’t stop thousands of people dressed in red from participating in CFJC TV’s Boogie the Bridge Sunday morning. 

According to Boogie the Bridge founder Jo Berry, it’s the first time in 21 years it has rained during the event.

“This is the first rainy Boogie ever!” said Berry ahead of the run. “It’s going to be awesome, it’s going to be different.” 

She added spirits were high despite the gloomy weather.

“Everybody is super happy, we got a record turn out this year, and it’s going to be an awesome day.” 

Proceeds from this year’s boogie will go to the Kamloops Early Language and Literacy Initiative and the Kamloops Brain Injury Association.
