WILLIAMS LAKE — Three people have been arrested in Williams Lake for possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana.

It follows the execution of a search warrant at a Williams Lake dispensary business that led to the seizure of over two kilograms of marijuana, a large sum of cash as well as "property directly related to drug trafficking."

Police say one of the suspects is currently facing similar charges from a previous file.

"The RCMP enforces the laws of Canada and, while we understand that there are changes coming, currently drug trafficking, including marijuana, is illegal," says Insp. Jeff Pelley, officer in charge of the Williams Lake detachment. "The RCMP continues to target illicit drug trafficking in the community and it is a high priority of the detachment."

No names have been released.
