Coquihalla reopens from Merritt to Portia

MERRITT — Update: The Coquihalla has reopened southbound at Merritt says Drive BC.

Earlier: The Coquihalla is closed southbound at Merritt because of a vehicle incident near Portia.

There’s no estimated time of reopening.

The good news is that sunny skies are in the forecast for all sections of the Coquihalla today, as well as the Rogers pass, so once the vehicle incident is dealt with, travel should be much better than the weekend. 

Over 40 centimeters of snow fell on parts of the Coquihalla over the weekend.
