SUN PEAKS, B.C. — Sun Peaks Resort will turn up the volume for this year's Canada Day weekend celebrations.

The resort has announced Canadian Rock staple Big Sugar as its headliner for the weekend.

The Toronto-based band, led by singer-guitarist Gordie Johnson, will take the stage Saturday, June 30.

Big Sugar's hits include "Turn the Lights On," "Diggin' a Hole," and "If I Had My Way."

Sun Peaks estimates it hosted 7,000 people for the free Canada Day concert in 2017.
