KAMLOOPS — If you were planning on driving the Coquihalla Highway this weekend, you might want to rethink your plans.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning from Hope to Merritt on the Coquihalla thanks to a Pacific front moving across the Interior that could bring 10 to 20 centimetres of snow tonight into tomorrow, and possibly another 10 to 20 centimetres tomorrow night into Sunday.

"We have two systems affecting us over the next couple of days," says Meterologist Doug Lundquist. "A total of 20 to 40 centimetres could fall."

He suggests motorists postpone their trips if possible, or at the very least check the Drive BC and Environment Canada websites for updates before heading out.

Lundquist says Kamloops will likely be spared any significant amounts the white stuff, noting if anything we may experience some flurries Saturday night.
