KAMLOOPS — There are big changes coming to the top brass at the Kamloops RCMP detachment.

Supt. Brad Mueller confirms the detachment's Operations Officer position will be filled once again after Insp. Sunny Parmar's departure last fall.

Insp. Todd Balaban's first day on the job is scheduled for next Monday, January 22.

Balaban is coming to Kamloops from E-Division's Traffic Services unit, based in the Lower Mainland.

Mueller also confirms Sgt. Lorne Wood, who has headed up the detachment's Major Crimes Unit, has been named as the new Detachment Commander in Merritt.

Wood's Merritt posting will begin at the end of March.
