KAMLOOPS — Traffic had to be detoured on Highway 97 after a logging truck jack-knifed and spilled its load near Old Kamloops Road this afternoon.

BX-Swan Lake Fire Chief Bill Wacey says it was a bit of mess.

“It was blocking off three-quarters of the lanes, as in, one full lane southbound, and a portion of the northbound lane,” Wacey says.

Traffic was detoured using Old Kamloops and L & A Cross roads.

Wacey says no one was hurt in the incident said to involve a Kamloops driver.

Police are investigating the cause.

Traffic is getting through the site, but it may take some time for all the logs to be cleared.

Drive BC estimates the route could fully reopen at 6:30 pm.
