WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Two people from Williams Lake are facing multiple charges following a hit and run incident in Clinton.

Cst. Andrew Waters of the Williams Lake RCMP says it all started Friday morning when a Clinton man was hit by a vehicle.

“It is alleged the vehicle then proceeded two and a half blocks with the Clinton man on the hood of the car before being able to get off.”

Immediately afterwards he says police were asked to look for a Chrysler Intrepid with stolen license plates heading northbound on Highway 97. Waters says it was spotted early that afternoon in Lac La Hache leading to the arrest of a man and woman.

Waters says police executed a search warrant on the car and found “a number of prohibited weapons, ammunition and drugs”  including cocaine, heroin and meth.

23 year old Jared Ingle, a man police call a “proflic offender,” is facing multiple charges including possession of stolen property under $5,000, driving while disqualified, break and enter and dangerous driving.

29 year old Karla Mindel of Williams Lake has been charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Both suspects will remain in police custody until a court appearance scheduled for Monday.

Waters says the investigation is ongoing and further charges are recommended.
