KAMLOOPS — The real estate market continues to hum along in Kamloops.

According to statistics released by the Kamloops District Real Estate Association, December saw a 28 per cent increase in sales – 206 sales this December compared to 162 the same month a year before.

“This is a bit of an anomaly as sales for the entire year in 2017 were up 5.5 per cent,” says Vice-President Doren Quinton. “We continue to see low inventory levels with 22 per cent fewer residential homes on the market than at the same time last year. However, we did see 43 per cent more homes listed in December 2017 compared to December 2016.”

He adds the median residential price of homes sold in Kamloops in December 2017 was $435,000 compared to $418,000 during the same month in 2016.
