KAMLOOPS — The chances of a white Christmas are looking a little better.

But it may come at a cost for travellers the first part of this week.

There's a snowfall warning out for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt, with snow falling today and tonight, heavier tomorrow. 5-10 centimeters are expected today, the same tonight, and then another 15 centimeters tomorrow.

There's also a snowfall warning for the Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass section of the Trans Canada, with mostly flurries today and tonight, and 10 centimeters tomorrow.

But then things start to clear up, with colder weather and more sunshine as a high pressure system builds up toward the weekend.

Environment Canada says some of the snow we get over the next few days should stick around for the big day next Monday.
