BURNABY —    An opponent of Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline expansion says the National Energy Board’s ruling in favour of the company in its efforts to bypass Burnaby bylaws is outrageous.

Climate Campaigner Peter McCartney of the Wilderness Committee says the decision puts local residents and the environment at risk.

Environment Minister George Heyman is also angry about the decision and says the province is looking to appeal the ruling.

Kinder Morgan Canada says the N-E-B is backing its view that the federally approved project is in the national interest.
