Ferguson to debut new “Kamloops” goalie helmet/mask

KAMLOOPS — The Blazers practiced Tuesday afternoon at the Sandman Centre and will load the bus and leave tonight for a six game pre-Christmas east division road trip.

Dylan Ferguson’ goaltenders mask and helmet got plenty of national exposure during his two and a half weeks with the NHL Vegas Golden Knights.

But Ferguson thought it was time for an overhaul.

“Yeah, I think that design had its day”, says the 19-year old Ferguson, “I needed a new helmet as well and thought I’d send it in and get it painted.”

With the help of Equipment Manager Colin “Toledo” Robinson, Ferguson incorporated some local flair into the mask.

“I got a Kami the Trout on here — obviously something that means something to the city, so I thought I would include that like I did the river on my last helmet.  I’m just happy how it turned out, they did a good job” says Ferguson.

One thing Ferguson didn’t change from his old mask is Philippians 4:13 — a verse that says “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
