Blazers win streak ends in loss to Everett

KAMLOOPS — The Blazers five game win streak is over in a 3-1 loss to the Everett Silvertips.

Everett opened the scoring on a power play goal by Matt Fonteyne at 6:25 of the first period.

But there were few quality chances at either end for the next period and a half.

The Blazers got better in the third, creating traffic in front of Carter Hart.

And it finally paid off when a Silvertips players attempt to clear a rebound from right in front went on to the stick of Nolan Kneen who scored an unassisted power play goal to tie it 1-1 with 3:30 left.

But the Silvertips regained the lead a few minutes later on a rebound goal by Sean Richards.

Everett then sealed the win with an empty net goal.

The Blazers will travel alll night to Seattle where they face the Thunderbirds tomorrow night, and then return home for a 3pm Sunday matinee Teddy Bear toss match against the Kootenay Ice.
