KAMLOOPS — According to city staffers, work is progressing as planned on a multi-use pathway which, once completed, will connect Sahali with downtown Kamloops via Peterson Creek

The Peterson Creek Multi-Use Path will begin at Sahali Secondary, at the intersection of Notre Dame and Summit Drives. City of Kamloops Transportation Engineer Liam Baker says due to the extremely dry summer, work was slow starting on the pathway but is now well underway.

“Obviously we couldn’t work during the high fire hazard times,” Baker explained. “They mobilized in September, and they’re plugging away, as anyone who drives by will see.”

Baker says barring any unexpected delays, the project is set to open at the beginning of June 2018. The terrain crews are working in has been the biggest challenge of the project thus far.
