MISSION —   Police say a 33-year-old man has been hospitalized following an apparent officer-involved shooting in Mission.

Corporal Frank Jang with the Integrated Homicide Investigations team says R-C-M-P received a call yesterday morning about a man who allegedly stole a knife from a grocery store, then headed toward some train tracks behind the shop.

He says investigators believe an officer with the Canadian Pacific Rail Police Service engaged the suspect and shots were fired.

The suspect was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Jang says the Integrated Homicide Investigations Team was called in because of unusual circumstances in the case.
