LYTTON, B.C. — One person is facing charges after allegedly trying to steal a vehicle in the Fraser Canyon.

Police say it all started Monday when Boston Bar RCMP received a report of the robbery and theft of an automobile from guests staying at a motel in the area.

About an hour later, a man received non-life threatening injuries when he was struck by the stolen vehicle while he and another person in the Lytton area allegedly prevented the suspect from stealing their truck.

After abandoning the stolen car, the suspect flagged a ride with a passing semi-truck, whose driver promptly presented him to a patrolling Lytton RCMP officer.
