Trial date set for Mountie accused of causing crash

LUMBY, B.C. — A Lumby Mountie accused of a driving offence that caused a crash will go on trial next spring.

Constable Megan Valenta — born in 1977 — is charged with driving without due care and attention under the Motor Vehicle Act.

An RCMP truck collided with a motorcycle on Highway 6 in Lavington in August 2016, injuring a Kelowna man and woman on the bike

Valenta was charged after a review by the Independent Investigations Office.
