KAMLOOPS — Update: Mounties have provided further details regarding the arrest of 41-year-old Kamloops man Michael Shawn Boyer.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says members of Kamloops RCMP General Duty, the Police Dog Section, Crime Reduction Unit and Serious Crimes located him at around 2:30 p.m. when the team approached a home on Fortune Drive in response to information Boyer was staying there. Once the house was surrounded, Shelkie says Boyer surrendered without incident.

Earlier in the day the team seized four firearms (all long guns – two sawed off) at a home on 217 Nelson Avenue. Police say that investigation is ongoing.
