SALMON ARM, B.C. — RCMP are searching three separate sites in rural areas of the North Okanagan.

The main one is at 2290 Salmon River Road south of Salmon Arm where human remains were found Saturday.

It’s not known if they belong to one or more victims, or how long they’d been there.

A neighbor told Global News he’s surprised.

“I didn’t know it was so close to my property. It’s kind of scary when you think of something like this. It’s kind of like a Pickton all over.”

Reports say police are also looking at a site north of Enderby on Springbend Road, and another one on Salmon River Road, about 3 kilometres from the main location.

36 year old Curtis Sagmoen is in custody facing six charges tied to an attack on a sex trade worker last summer, but police haven’t officially said he is a suspect in the searches.

There has been up to five missing women from the area over the last year or so.
