KAMLOOPS — A First Nation from Alkali Lake is coordinating a major search in the Kamloops area today for a missing Williams Lake man.

67-year old David Michael Jeff has been missing since mid-July.

Jeff is believed to have come to Kamloops during the wildfire evacuations in the Cariboo. But he hasn’t been seen since later that month.

A search has been ongoing intermittently since he was first reported missing, but no trace of him has been found.

Today the Esk’etemc Band from the Alkali area are organizing a major search to see if they can find out where the man is gone.

Searchers will gather at 8 this morning at the Moccasin Square Garden on the Tk’emlups reserve, and the search will be coordinated from there.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Jeff is described as First Nations, 5’5″ tall, 146 pounds with shoulder-length grey hair, and brown eyes.
