Kamloops building sector trending up

KAMLOOPS — September was a strong month for the Kamloops construction industry.

208 permits were taken out last month, totalling $20.5 million in activity.

The majority of that activity took place in residential construction, including $5.6 million in multi-family permits.

All of that activity has the 2017 building season in Kamloops pacing about 14 per cent higher than at the same time last year.

$142.7 million in permits have been taken out so far this year, compared to $125.3 million by the end of September 2016.
