WolfPack men’s volleyball sweeps UBCO In preseason

KAMLOOPS — It was a successful weekend for Pat Hennelly and the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s volleyball team.  The ‘Pack took on the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat in a pair of exhibition matches.

After winning 3-1 on Friday (Sept 29) in Winfield, the WolfPack went into the TRU Gym on Saturday (Set 30) and won again in four sets.

The scores were 25-16,16-28,25-16,26-24.

The WolfPack are now 2-3 in exhibition play.

Josh Mullaney (3rd year, outside hitter, Calgary, AB) was the top offensive weapon for the WolfPack. He had 11 kills in 25 swings.

Tim Dobbert (4th year, outside hitter, Aichelberg, Germany) added 10 kills in 21 chances with Alex Cassels (5th year, setter, East St. Paul, MB) adding 21 assists.

For UBCO: It was Kyle Hinchey with 11 kills in 26 swings to lead their offense.  Tristan Simmonds was 9 for 22. Lucas Robertson added 18 assists and 9 digs.

The WolfPack open their 2017-18 Canada West regular season at home to the MacEwan University Griffins on Friday, October 20th. They hit the Warner Rentals Court at the Tournament Capital Centre at 7:45 pm.
