WolfPack baseball win first game against UBC, split doubleheader

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Rivers University Baseball Team beat the University of British Columbia for the first time ever Saturday, winning 1-0 on a walk off error in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was the second game of the doubleheader. Adam Filmon (Winnipeg, MB) hit it to the third baseman and his throw got past the first baseman, bringing home Jordy Cunningham (Ladner, BC) .

Dillon Ferguson (Kirkland, WA) pitched a gem of a game and got the win, throwing a complete game shutout, allowing only one hit and struck out 11 batters.

The WolfPack had many chances to score during the second game but couldn’t get a run across until the seventh. Liam Rihela (White Rock, BC) went 2-3 with a double. Vance Fode (Bow Island, AB) went 1-3 with a double. Malik James (Toronto, ON) and Josh Snider (Moses Lake, WA) also collected a base hit each.
