Kamloops’ Sears closes for good Sunday

KAMLOOPS — Sears shoppers have one last weekend to check out deals at the department store.

A store manager contacted by CFJC said Sears will be open regular hours Saturday and Sunday before officially closing its doors Monday.

The store will re-open the following Sunday on October 8 for people to buy shelving and other in-store equipmient.

Sears Canada announced in June it was closing 59 stores across the country as part of a restructuring plan.

Eighty-three employees are expected to lose their jobs as part of the cuts.
