KAMLOOPS — RCMP are investigating Kamloops’ second homicide of 2017.

Mounties rushed to a home on Hudson’s Bay Trail in the West End at about 7:20 Thursday evening, responding to multiple reports of gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims outside of the home.

One man was already dead, and another was suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Two suspects fled the scene on foot.

Both victims are known to police, and investigators believe the shooting was targeted.

RCMP say there is no threat to the general public.

About 10 minutes after the shooting, a vehicle was reported to be on fire on Odin Court off Whiteshield Crescent in Sahali.

Police are trying to determine if the burning vehicle is related to the shooting.

The situation is described as “fluid,” with Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit, General Duty, Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services all hunting for the suspects, who are still at large this morning.

Any witnesses, or anyone who has information about the suspects is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
