KAMLOOPS — The Vancouver Canucks are rewarding volunteers in Kamloops who played a key role in helping evacuees during the historic wildfire season, offering free tickets to a preseason game on Sunday.

President of Volunteer Kamloops Debbie Smith says the Canucks contacted the organization offering 100 donated tickets to anyone who can make the game, Sunday at 2 p.m. at Rogers Arena as the Canucks play the NHL’s newest franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights.

Smith notes the tickets need to be picked up by 6 p.m. tonight, and volunteers just need to indicate where and when they volunteered.

People can phone Volunteer Kamloops at 250-372-8313, email info@volunteerkamloops.org, or simply drop by the office at 705 Seymour Street. If the tickets run out quickly, Smith says the Canucks are willing to donate more.
