Provincial state of emergency further extended
VICTORIA, B.C. — The provincial state of emergency has been extended to September 15th.
It’s the fourth time it’s been extended with previous extensions on July 19, August 4th, and August 18th.
In a press release, the NDP says the extension ensures that federal, provincial and local resources can be delivered in a co-ordinated response to the wildfire situation and continue to ensure public safety, which remains the provincial government’s top priority.
Wildfire evacuees will continue to receive $600 every two weeks until they return home.
