KAMLOOPS — Note: This story has been updated here.

UPDATE: 9:40 a.m. — It appears a tense situation on a North Shore street is winding down.

RCMP have been at a residential complex on Cambridge Crescent since 3:30 a.m., but have been mum on details.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says officers are beginning to wrap up the operation.

She adds the incident is completely unrelated to the nearby Sikh temple.

EARLIER:

7:45 a.m. — RCMP are still dealing with a situation in Brocklehurst that apparently started overnight.

There has been little new information since the RCMP put out a news release at 3:30 AM saying they were dealing with a situation on Cambridge Crescent.

They asked traffic to stay away from the area.

They haven’t released anything new, but CFJC Today’s Chad Klassen is on the scene.

He says police can’t say anything yet, but two police cars are still outside the residence.

Local traffic is being allowed through, but they have evacuated residents in a four-house radius around the residence in question.
