KAMLOOPS — RCMP in Kamloops regularly release descriptions of subjects they’d like to track down, but rarely do the descriptions include “1400 pounds, tan in colour with large horns.”

But today, RCMP and workers at the BC Livestock Yard in Dallas are trying to track down an ornery bull that escaped last week.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the tan-coloured bovine is not spotted, but has been spotted in recent days between Tanager Drive and the Pineridge Golf Course.

Shelkie says the animal’s run for freedom does not appear to have made him more relaxed.

“He is considered dangerous, because he has burst through many fences,” said Shelkie.

“We’re just asking the public to not approach the bull. If you do see a bull on the loose, contact the Kamloops RCMP or BC Livestock Yard. He’s considered very unpredictable and dangerous.”

There is concern for the bull’s safety as well as the safety of the public.

Shelkie says any help tracking the animal down would be appreciated.

“He could have travelled quite a distance from the Dallas area now. Wherever you’re at, be on the lookout, as you would for moose or deer or anything else. This bull could be out there, and he could quite possibly make it into somebody’s yard.”
