Crash closes Trans Canada near North Shuswap exit

CHASE, B.C. — UPDATE — Three people were injured yesterday afternoon when a motorhome collided with a car at the intersection of the Trans Canada and the Squilax-Anglemont Road in Lee Creek. 

Corporal Scott Linklater says about 2:30 PM, the car was attempting to turn from the Squilax-Anglemont Road westbound onto the Trans Canada, and drove into the path of an eastbound motor home.

The motor home hit the car, trapping the car’s driver inside. Kamloops Fire and Rescue crews attended and got the driver out.

The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two passengers in the car were treated for minor injuries. Two people in the motorhome were shaken but not injured. 

Traffic was tied up for two hours at the scene. Police investigation is continuing. 

 

YESTERDAY — Traffic was shut down on the Trans Canada Highway east of Chase Friday afternoon after a crash.

The crash took place at the intersection of the Trans Canada and Squilax-Anglemont Road.

Photos from the scene appear to show the crash between a motorhome and a car.

The photos also show an air ambulance on the scene.

According to Drive BC, there is no detour available.

The extent of injuries is not known, nor is the approximate time the highway may re-open.
