Rebuilt Westsyde Pool to re-open Sept. 8

KAMLOOPS — After more than two years of construction, the rebuilt Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre will re-open to the public two weeks from today, on Friday, September 8.

From 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on that day, the public will be invited to use the facility for free.

The pool and workout centre was shut down in 2015 due to a failing roof and vapour barrier.

The City embarked on a $3 million project to rebuild the structure, and users will find it much brighter and more airy than the previous pool building interior.

There are renovations and cosmetic updates throughout the facility, and more amenities to come, including a unique aquatic climbing wall, the first of its kind in Canada.
