City of Kamloops nature parks re-open as fire risk gradually eases

KAMLOOPS — Nature lovers in Kamloops will be happy this weekend.

The City of Kamloops has opened the city’s nature parks, as of 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25.

The move coincides with “the arrival of cooler weather and longer, more humid nights,” according to a City of Kamloops news release.

Nature parks were first closed in July due to the extreme fire risk, re-opened, then closed again on August 8.

Even with the re-opening, the City says park users should remain vigilant, and remember smoking is always prohibited in all Kamloops parks.
