Case of badly decomposed body turned over to BC Coroners Service

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say they have handed the investigation into a man who was found dead beside the Thompson River to the BC Coroners Service.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the man has been identified as a 56 year old who was known to live in a tent.
His badly decomposed body was discovered off Mission Flats Road on August 16.
Shelkie says there is nothing to indicate the man’s death was suspicious, though the cause of death has not been determined.
