Kamloops athletes miss podium on day two, week two at Canada Games

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops athletes missed the podium yesterday in and on the water at the Canada Summer Games.

Cameron Chambers came closest to a medal finish.

After posting the third fastest time in the heats in the Special Olympics 100 freestyle in swimming , Chambers finished fifth in the final, less than a second out of a bronze.

Michael Lanyon from the Kamloops Canoe/Kayak Club and the B.C. K-4 team placed fourth, but more then 10 seconds off the podium.
