Kamloops RCMP Superintendent not worried about higher crime stats

KAMLOOPS — Crime in Kamloops has remained relatively stable over the past three months, according to RCMP Superintendent Brad Mueller. Mueller addressed the statistics today at the City Police Committee meeting today with the interim Mayor, and members of council.

Mueller also addressed a recent report by InfoNews stating the Crime Severity Index in Kamloops spiked in 2016. The article compared the Kamloops Crime Severity Index to some of the bigger urban centres in Canada, a measurement which Mueller thought was unfair, as the CSI is based on the seriousness of crimes in relation to the population of a community.
