KAMLOOPS — Kamloops firefighters moved quickly this morning to put out a brush fire in the downtown area.

The fire broke out in some brush in the business section of the 300 block West Victoria street, between the business complex that houses Boomer’s Auto Centre, and the old Hasler Brothers cement plant foundation.

It was a 20 X 40 foot blaze, but Kamloops Fire and Rescue got to it quickly and put it out before it could do any serious damage.

No cause but it could have started by someone building a small fire, or by a discarded cigarette.
