Last ditch effort Thursday to avoid strike at Highland Valley Copper

LOGAN LAKE — We may know as soon as tomorrow the likelihood of workers at Highland Valley Copper going on strike.

While the United Steelworkers has a 99.8 percent strike mandate from its workers, they have yet to serve strike notice on the company.

What is considered a final attempt at negotiating a deal is set for tomorrow.
