KAMLOOPS — Organizers of the Kamloops Marathon have decided to cancel the event.

The marathon was scheduled for this weekend, but organizer Christopher Seguin says Kamloops is not a good place to do strenuous outdoor exercise right now.

“The air quality is absolutely troubling. When you have the Government of Canada say don’t do strenuous activity outside, and you are asking people to run 42 kilometers quickly, you can be putting them in danger of hurting themselves,” said Seguin.
