Dunn Lake fires spur evacuation of East Blackpool

CLEARWATER, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued another evacution order due to the Dunn Lake fires near Little Fort.

This time, residents of about 20 address points on Dunn Lake Road in the East Blackpool area have been told to leave.

Evacuees are told to register with the Emergency Social Services Reception Centre at Sandman Centre in Kamloops, as well as with the Canadian Red Cross.

As of Saturday at about noon, the Dunn Lake fires had burned nearly 2,000 hectares and the most aggressive front were travelling north toward Clearwater.
