One dead, one injured in industrial accident at Domtar

KAMLOOPS — One worker is dead, and another is in hospital following a industrial accident at the Domtar Pulp Mill in Kamloops.

Craig Timm, Manager of Regional Public Affairs, said in an e-mailed statement, “It is with extreme sadness that Domtar is reporting the loss of a colleague at the Kamloops Pulp Mill. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, employees, and everyone associated with the mill.”

Timm indicates the incident happened around 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 when two employees were working with heavy equipment at the plant.

“Domtar is cooperating fully with WorkSafeBC and all related authorities,” said Timm.
