Konowalchuk leaves WHL champs

KAMLOOPS — Another coaching vacancy has opened in the Western Hockey League.

Steve Konowalchuk is leaving the Western League champion Seattle Thunderbirds for an assistant coaches job with the Anaheim Ducks.

Dave Lowry and Don Nachbaur are other Western League coaches to recently go to the NHL as assistants — both with the L.A. Kings.
