Vernon RCMP make arrest in murder investigation

VERNON, B.C. — Shortly after 11 pm, last night members of the Vernon North Okanagan Detachment responded to a report of an assault at an apartment unit in the 7300 block of Okanagan Landing Road in Vernon.

Police located an injured woman who was subsequently transported to local hospital. The 49-year-old woman has since succumbed to her injuries and her death is being considered a homicide.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the residence in connection with this incident. The victim and suspect were known to each other.

The scene has been cordoned off and the investigation is continuing. No further information is available at this time.
