Blazers sign a second player from 2017 bantam draft

KAMLOOPS —  The Kamloops Blazers announced today that the hockey club has signed 15-year-old goaltender Dylan Garand.

Garand was the Blazers second pick in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft taken in the third round, 58th overall. 

The 5’10.5” and 150lb native of Victoria, BC played last season with the Delta Hockey Academy Bantam Prep Green team. In 13 regular season games, he went 13-0-0-0 with a 1.15 goals against average a .959 save percentage and four shutouts.

“Dylan was one of the top goaltenders available in the WHL Bantam Draft,” commented General Manager, Stu MacGregor. “He is composed and athletic in the net. We look forward to monitoring his progress and believe he has the qualities to be a very good goaltender.”
