KAMLOOPS — A Friday night driving rampage has a Kamloops man in hot water.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie of Kamloops RCMP says police were called to a pair of hit-and-run incidents within moments of each other Friday evening.

One took place at Third Avenue and Victoria Street while the next happened at Third and Lansdowne Street.

Both involved a white pickup truck, and the second crash resulted in injuries to a driver and passenger.

Shelkie says the driver of the first vehicle that was hit demonstrated quick thinking and took a photo of the truck’s license plate as it was leaving the scene.

“It really is helpful that when people, if they are involved with something like that, to right away get the license plate number, in case something like this does happen where they leave the scene without giving any information,” said Shelkie.

RCMP used the license plate to track down the suspect’s home, and found him to be impaired.

A 45 year old man is now facing a series of charges and is expected in court May 29.
