TNRD waives tipping fees for flood-damaged materials

KAMLOOPS, B.C. — The TNRD is waiving tipping fees for homeowners who have suffered property damage from recent flooding in the region.

According to the TNRD, the fee waiver is in effect for all TNRD solid waste facilities until June 11.

Only waste materials generated as a direct result of flooding will be waived.

Residents are required to sign a declaration stating their name, phone number, and address of flooded property at waste disposal sites.

The Heffley Creek and Lower Nicola Landfills are the only two TNRD facilities that will accept rocks, clean soil, sand, gravel, etc, with the materials not accepted at waste transfer stations.
